An Oklahoma City man was arrested after he reportedly fell through the ceiling of a church sanctuary in Tulsa. Allen Ray Idell Jr. was booked into the David L. Moss Jail on complaints of first and second degree burglary.
Police say he broke into a church then picked a lock on a nearby apartment, leaving an ID card inside the home.
Officers were called to the Unity Church at 1830 South Boston Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. Witnesses told them they were in the sanctuary of the church when a man wearing a white tank top fell through the church ceiling, according to an arrest report.
Police say the man entered an exterior door and climbed into the attic.
The suspect had left the scene, but officers got another call shortly afterward from residents saying a man in a white tank top was knocking on doors in the area of 1000 East 18th Street.
They arrested Idell, 37.
A person living in the area said his apartment had been broken into by someone who left an ID card just inside the door. Police say they recovered Idell's County Health Card from the burglary victim.
Idell is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
