Emergency crews responded to a wreck involving two semi trucks on Interstate 44. One semi rear ended another at about 8:45 a.m.

It happened on westbound Interstate 44 just east of Harvard.

Tulsa firefighters quickly put out an engine compartment fire in the semi that ran into the back of the lead truck. A third vehicle, a passenger car, was also believed to have been involved.

EMSA treated and transported a 52-year-old man and a 56-year-old man to a local hospital after the wreck. Both were in fair condition.

Two other people refused transport to a hospital, according to Adam Paluka, EMSA Community Relations.

Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area as crews clean up from the wreck.

Another collision was reported on the same highway just west of Yale.
