Jury Convicts Man Of Murder In Fatal Muskogee Shooting

A Muskogee jury convicted a young man of murdering another man after a fight in September of 2012.

The deliberated for about three hours before finding John Cone guilty of two counts, including first-degree murder.

Cone was 18 when he got into a fight with Skyler Brewer, 26, on the evening of September 6, 2012. Prosecutors say he shot Brewer several times later that same evening. Brewer was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The jury recommended life with the possibility of parole plus five years. Cone is scheduled to be sentenced on May 14.
