Police Honor Their Own At Tulsa Heroes Celebration

The Tulsa Police Department honored some of its own Saturday night at the eighth annual Tulsa Heroes awards celebration at the downtown Hyatt Regency.

The department recognized outstanding performances from 2013.

"This gives an opportunity for me and the entire community to recognize all of our officers who have done such a great job over the year," TPD Chief Chuck Jordan said. "I'm extremely privileged to be able to give out these awards to my officers because they've made our entire police department look good."

"It's nice to have somebody say we really appreciate what you have done," TPD's Kelly Riley said.

The presentations included four medals of valor, 18 commendations, 20 lifesaving awards and 24 chief's awards.
