Some budding Green Country inventors got a chance to put their ideas to the test at the Tulsa STEM expo. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
The students came up with a prototype, built it then competed with it in three categories. School leaders said it's the perfect hands-on way to get the kids thinking about possible careers.
Melissa Parks, Dove Science Academy Vice-Principal: "This covers so many things, I mean the medical field, you know, environment, energy, anything. So almost any job can be related to a STEM field, so the kids picked things that were interesting to them to learn more about," said Dove Science Academy vice-principal, Melissa Parks.
