The LeFlore County sheriff ruled the deaths of three people whose bodies were found after a house fire on Monday a double-murder/suicide.

The fire happened near the town of Whitesboro on March 3, 2014.

According to the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office web site, the three people who died were Edith Custard, 57; Lawrence Schlienz, 80; and Jacob Custard, 30.

Sheriff Rob Seale says Jacob Custard murdered his parents then set fire to the house and shot himself inside.

The sheriff says investigators came to that conclusion based on evidence at the scene and through further investigation and interviews.

The sheriff says Jacob Custard had a history of mental health issues and was no longer going to counseling or taking any medication for his problems.

Sheriff Seale says the State Fire Marshal was unable to determine a cause or origin of the fire because the house was destroyed.
