It has been almost two years since a Tulsa Memorial High School graduate was gunned down in what authorities say was a case of mistaken identity.

Saturday, March 8, friends will honor Kayla Ferrante's memory with a fundraiser for "Kayla's Kids."

Five Tulsa restaurants; Leon's, Andolini's Cherry Street, Fat Guy's Downtown, Docs and Caz's Chowhouse will donate a portion of the proceeds they earn on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. to "Kayla's Kids."

Tulsa Police say gang members mistakenly thought they were shooting at rival gang members on May 26, 2012, when they killed Kayla Ferrante instead.

Edwin Daniels was charged with first degree murder in her death. His trial has been delayed several times, but is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2014.
