Police arrested the driver of a car after a crash involving a semi at Highway 169 and Interstate 244 Tuesday morning.
Justin Noonkester, 20, was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of hit and run, reckless driving, driving under suspension and without proof of liability insurance.
Police say Noonkester passed a semi on the shoulder near an exit ramp when his car struck the semi's fuel tanks. The semi's rear tires hit the car causing it to go into a ditch.
Noonkester got out and ran away but was arrested by police officers near Mingo Road and I-244, according to police.
Tulsa Police said the crash damaged the semi's fuel tanks causing a diesel fuel spill that brought out Tulsa firefighters.
Officers said the driver of the semi wasn't injured, but the wreck backed up southbound traffic on 169 north of the interchange for several miles.
