The City of Broken Arrow announced the hiring a new assistant city manager Friday. In a news release, the city said Jeff Jenkins will join the staff March 17, 2014.
"We had several outstanding candidates following the national recruitment process," said City Manager Thom Moton.
"The selection committee and I thought Jeff stood out from the other candidates as the individual who could help Broken Arrow continue building relationships in the organization, community and with the City Council. He has 10 years of experience as a city manager and his breadth of experience will be an asset."
Jenkins, who most recently served as city manager for Lucas, Texas said he was attracted to Broken Arrow because of the opportunity to work and manage a growing city with a multitude of opportunities.
"When I selected public administration as a career, I chose it in order to improve the quality of life for the citizens I serve," Jenkins said.
In the release, Jenkins said he looks forward to getting to know the people and experiencing all the things Broken Arrow has to offer.
