A two-year-old girl was taken to a Tulsa hospital after police say she was bit by a dog inside a home late Tuesday.
Tulsa Police say the incident occurred at the girl's grandmother's home near Cincinnati and 53rd Street North at about 10:45 p.m.
When police officers arrived they say the girl appeared to have significant facial injuries including deep cuts to her cheek.
The father told officers when his daughter attempted to get onto the couch; the lab-pit bull mix lunged at her. Officers said the father was able to get the dog away from the girl, but not before the dog had bitten her at least once.
Tulsa Police said the child's injuries are not life threatening. They say a report will be given to animal control officers Wednesday morning.
