Verdigris Home Badly Damaged By Overnight Fire

A Verdigris family has been displaced from an overnight house fire. The fire started between 11:30 p.m. and midnight when it spread from a chimney to an attic.

The homeowner had already gone to bed but smelled the fire and was able to get everyone out in time. No one was hurt but the house was heavily damaged.

Four people were displaced from the home which is located on Gateway north of Highway 66.

Catoosa, Verdigris and Rolling Hills fire departments responded.
