The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said none of the students on a Tulsa Public School bus were injured when a car rear-ended it on the I-244 bridge over the Arkansas River Tuesday morning.
Troopers were dispatched to the crash at about 8 a.m.
The OHP said it appeared traffic congestion caused the northbound school bus to stop and a car struck the back end of it.
Troopers said there were 23 students on the bus.
"Most of the kids were unaware a collision had taken place. The bus driver did a good job of paying attention to his surroundings and notifying emergency officials. This shows just how important it is for bus riders to remain seated and facing forward. Compartmentalized seating on large heavy buses is a good safety feature if used correctly," said OHP Captain George Brown.
The OHP says the driver of the car was not injured.
