Report: Sand Springs Man Arrested For Assaulting Girlfriend, Her Friends

A Sand Springs man was arrested early Saturday morning after deputies say he attacked a group of people, including his girlfriend.

Jonathan Underwood was booked into the Tulsa County jail on two complaints each of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery.

According to his arrest report, Underwood's girlfriend told deputies she was at work when her mother called and told her Underwood was drunk and threatening her young son and daughter. Her mother asked her to come home and calm him down.

The woman reportedly brought some friends with her to the residence in the 200 block of North Walnut, in Sand Springs, and found Underwood drinking vodka and being aggressive. The report says she tried to calm him down, but he attacked her.

When a friend tried to step between them, the report says Underwood attacked him and choked him out.

Underwood went "out of control," according to the report, and started throwing punches at everyone, until two of the friends took him to the ground and restrained him until police arrived.

That was reportedly the scene that was playing out when Tulsa County deputies arrived. Underwood was placed under arrest.

Underwood is due for a court date on Sunday.
