Light Snow, Bitter Cold Arrives In NE Oklahoma, Southern Kansas

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect through 3 a.m. for Washington, Osage, Craig, Nowata, Ottawa and Delaware counties.

Very cold temperatures and light to moderate snow are in the forecast for northeastern Oklahoma and southern Kansas. 

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect through 3 a.m. for Washington, Osage, Craig, Nowata, Ottawa and Delaware counties.

Roads in the advisory area may be slick especially on elevated surfaces. Snow accumulations are expected to be light, but motorists are urged to use caution especially near the Kansas border in Osage and Washington counties.

Wind chill factors Thursday morning will be bitterly cold and in the single digits.

The weekend will be a bit warmer with very cold temperatures expected once again when school resumes Monday.
