There are new developments as an 11th hour stay stops the birth control mandate in the Affordable Care Act from taking effect today.

This is a big win for Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby as well as 44 other businesses.

Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor has temporarily blocked the provision that would have forced businesses to cover birth control for employees, which they say is against their Christian values.

Justice Sotomayor gave the Justice Department until Friday to respond.

Organizations that didn't comply with the law could have faced thousands of dollars in fines.
