The cause of small Tulsa business fire early Wednesday is under investigation.

The Tulsa Fire Department was sent to Hewitt Furniture in the 100 block of North Lewis at about 4:15 a.m. Inside, firefighters found a small fire and quickly extinguished it.

Fire officials say the fire was confined to one room and some furniture that was stored there. There was also water and smoke damage, according to owner Lela Hewitt.

Hewitt said she got the call about the fire at about 5 a.m., and she and other family members were busy Christmas Day trying to clean up from the fire and get ready for business Wednesday.

"We expect to be up and running," she said. "We've got work to do. We've got clients that are expecting furniture before the new year, so we're going to continue on."

Hewitt said the shop is an upholstery business.

"We're just thankful that no people were there, that the building was not lost," she said. "We can continue working and feel the Lord was watching over us."
