The people who represent Tulsa on the city and state levels spent some time together Thursday and discussed ways to serve the city better.
They've been having these informal meetings for a few years. The meetings are a chance for city councilors and state representatives and state senators to bring their ideas to the table so everyone can weigh in.
But sometimes creating the connections is the most important part of the meetings.
Jack Henderson, Tulsa City Council: "I get a lot of calls from constituents here trying to tell me what they'd like to see happen that might be something that a state representative can handle that I can't," said Councilor Jack Henderson. "City, for me; state, for them. It works out pretty good because I know somebody that I can tell them to call and it may be their legislator or it may be just getting some information from the state. So this is a good opportunity."
City councilors say school funding is always a big topic at the meetings.
