Teen Arrested In Theft, Arson Of Avant Volunteer Fire Department Truck

The Osage County Sheriff's Office arrested a teenager in connection with the theft and arson of a fire truck from the Avant Volunteer Fire Department.

Undersheriff Lou Ann Brown said deputies arrested Harvey Gene Eastwood Thursday.

The truck was stolen and torched on December 4, 2013.

Brown said information given to the office by a juvenile led deputies to Eastwood. She said deputies then uncovered additional evidence about the burning of the truck.

Deputies arrested him on complaints of arson, two counts of burglary and larceny of a vehicle.

Brown said the office will forward its investigation to the district attorney who will decide what charges will be filed against Eastwood. 

According to Brown, Eastwood is also a suspect in a burglary at the House of Prayer Church in Avant on October 18, 2013.
