UPDATE: The state championship 6A football game has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Tulsa.

The game had been set for Thursday night, but OSSAA representatives said Tuesday there are contingency plans in place and a decision would be announced Wednesday.

On Tuesday, officials said one contingency plan was to move the game to TU's Chapman Stadium. We're told this option is "highly probable." Jenks and Union played in the Backyard Bowl earlier in the year and got a crowd of just under 20,000, and from what people we have talked to have said, another option is the game could be moved to Monday at Stillwater.

But, for now, both teams are keeping their normal practice schedule. Now, its just a matter of safety for the fans, faculty and students at both schools.

A lot of the change in date and time will have to do with TV rights, as well. After a decision is made by the OSSAA, the schools will be informed. For now, the two big rivals will have to wait.
