The Tulsa women's basketball team will host cross-town rival Oral Roberts in the 2013 PSO Mayor's Cup on Tuesday, Nov. 26th beginning at 7:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on the TU campus. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Reynolds Center ticket office.
Tulsa (2-1) is coming off a 60-59 comeback win over Western Michigan last Friday and is on a two-game winning streak. The Golden Hurricane is averaging 69.3 points per game and 37.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 40-percent from the field.
Sophomore Ashley Clark and junior Kadan Brady are both posting double-digit points so far this season, including 14.7 ppg and 10.3 ppg, respectively. Freshman Stevi Parker has a team-high 7.0 rpg, while senior Loren McDaniel is posting 6.7 rpg. Kelsee Grovey has a team-leading 12 assists and Parker has 10 steals.
Oral Roberts has a 1-3 record this season, dropping their last three contests, including an 89-64 decision to Navy on Friday. The Golden Eagles have a trio of players averaging double-digit points, including Christian Key (12.5 ppg), Kaylan Mayberry (12.0), sister of former TU standout Taleya Mayberry, and Alexus Wilson (11.3). Sarah Shelton has a team-high 9.8 rebounds per game and four blocks, Jenni Bryan has 11 assists and Key has five steals.
This will be the 37th meeting between Tulsa and Oral Roberts on the women's basketball court. The Golden Eagles lead the series, 29-7, but TU has won two of the last three contests. Oral Roberts came away with a 64-53 victory last season at ORU.
