The Tulsa Police Department has canceled an Amber Alert for a missing 1-year-old girl.

Police said they issued the alert because they were told by the child's mother that her daughter had been forcibly taken from the McDonald's near Pine and Peoria in north Tulsa.

The mother told police that the child has leukemia and the man is her ex-boyfriend and not the biological father, TPD Officer Demita Kinnard said.

The alert was active for a little more than an hour before it was canceled and deemed a civil matter. Officers said that the entire situation is still under investigation, but that they do know that the child is no longer is danger.

Kinnard would not speculate if the man is actually the father of the girl. Kinnard also said police issued the Amber Alert in the beginning because every moment counts when a child is thought to be missing.

"The initial report was that the child was taken, and there were some statements made that the child would not be found, other than in a non-living state," Kinnard said.

News On 6 asked if charges would be filed, and Kinnard told us that the situation is still under investigation.

At this point, they are not releasing mother's name or the location of the girl.
