The Oklahoma Department of Human Services will begin accepting applications for heating assistance for needy families next month.
DHS said in a news release that applications will be accepted starting Dec. 10 for the $8 million in federal funds. Funds will be dispersed to eligible candidates until the money is depleted.
Eligibility for the program is based on each household's income and assets. Only one payment per household is allowed.
Residents should apply at the local Department of Human Services office in their county.
