The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Sapulpa man died after crashing his car into the rear of a pickup parked on the shoulder of I-44 just west of Harvard Thursday evening.

Troopers said Jody Wilson, 34, was headed east on the interstate when his 2009 Pontiac went off the road onto the shoulder, striking the rear of a parked 2009 Ford F350 pickup truck at about 8:30 p.m.

The impact pushed the pickup truck into the rear of an unoccupied dump truck also parked on the shoulder with a flat tire. That impact pushed the dump truck into the rear of another unoccupied pickup parked in front of it.

The OHP says Wilson was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Two passengers in the Ford F350 pickup -- Lora Jones, 47, of Tulsa and a 17-year-old male -- were also taken to the hospital. The trooper's report said both were treated and released.

The OHP says Wilson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
