Authorities say two people were believed to be aboard a single-engine plane that crashed in Madison County, Arkansas, en route from Sylacauga, Alabama to Claremore, CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, KFSM reports.

Emergency crews and law enforcement called off the search for the crash site Monday evening, saying it would resume at 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

KFSM reports the pilot of the Piper Saratoga notified air traffic control that the plane was experiencing problems, then never checked back in.

The plane was supposed to arrive in Claremore around 3 p.m., but it is believed to have crashed in rainy weather around that time, near Huntsville, Arkansas.
