A Bartlesville pastor served as guest chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives Wednesday.

Dr. Rod MacIlvaine of Grace Community Church was the guest of Oklahoma Congressman Jim Bridenstine in the House chambers.

As part of his duties, Dr. MacIlvaine was invited to open the meeting with a prayer.

In the prayer, Dr. MacIlvaine thanked God for the "heroic leadership" shown by the members of the U.S. House during the past week and for their work.

In the C-SPAN video above, Dr. MacIlvaine also asked for God's guidance during the chamber's budget negotiations with the White House.
