Tulsa Police say a speeding pickup driver trying to avoid a stopped school bus hit a girl waiting to board the bus early Tuesday.
A second girl nearby jumped out of the way.
It happened at 87th and Lewis at 6:50 a.m.
Tulsa Police say both girls suffered only minor injuries, but they arrested Thomas Kirk, 25, of Tulsa for driving with a suspended license, having no insurance and driving to fast for conditions.
Police say the Jenks school bus had its flashing red lights activated at the time.
Jenks School officials say a second bus was sent to the scene to take students to school.
Police say an EMSA ambulance and crew responded to the scene but the injured girl did not need to be taken to the hospital.
According to jail records, Kirk has a court appearance set for October 4.
