Oral Roberts University stayed perfect in Southland Conference play with a 3-0 victory over new league member New Orleans on Thursday evening at the Human Performance Center. Jessica Pancratz led the Golden Eagles with nine kills in the win.
The Golden Eagles (11-2, 3-0 SLC) took the match by scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-14.
Pancratz led the way for ORU, but the final score sheet was very balanced. Luara Rosa chipped in seven kills, while Nika Mostahinic tallied five. Seven different players scored kills in the win. The Golden Eagles added eight service aces, with Rosa notching a career-high four individually.
ORU hit .230 for the match, while New Orleans (2-13, 0-3 SLC) hit just .000, a season-low for a Golden Eagle opponent. Marti Richmiller led the Privateers with seven kills.
ORU hit just .000 in the opening set but was much crisper in the final two frames, with a .360 hitting percentage in the 2nd set and a .276 mark in the 3rd.
The victory is the 198th in the head coaching career of ORU's Sheera Sirola.
The Golden Eagles look to maintain their perfect league record on Saturday afternoon, when they face Southeastern Louisiana. First serve in Hammond, La., is on the books for 2 pm CT.
