Tulsa Police say two men crashed into and injured someone while trying to get away from the scene of a crime Wednesday.
Records show police responded to a burglary call before 11 a.m., and when they arrived, caught Dalone Gay and Shaquille Summers, both 19 years old, leaving the home in a subdivision off South 161st East Avenue, near East 11th Street.
Police say the men got into a black SUV in the driveway and sped off to the south on 161st, before turning west on East 21st Street. The arrest report shows witnesses identified Gay as the driver of the stolen SUV, who ran the red light at 21st and South 145th East Avenue, crashing into another vehicle.
Gay and Summers then got out and ran away from the scene of the crash, which left the other driver injured, police say. They headed south through Eastgate Metroplex, where police and security officers caught up with them, according to the arrest report.
Police say Gay had jewelry in his pocket, which was identified by the homeowner, and police found two handguns, which witnesses said they saw the men throw away as they were running from the crash.
Summers was booked into Tulsa county jail on complaints of burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, leaving the scene of an injury accident, possession of stolen property, and possession of marijuana.
Gay was booked on complaints of burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, leaving the scene of an injury accident, and eluding, as well as driving without a driver's license or insurance.
