Good morning and welcome to Friday!  Unfortunately I do not have good news regarding the temperatures. We continue to think the afternoon highs will rise a few degrees through the weekend.  This means Saturday and Sunday afternoon highs will be from 96 to near 98 degrees.   Southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour will be common in the afternoon hours.  Saturday morning low temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s and Sunday morning lows will be in the lower to mid 70s.

Our main weather pattern will continue for the next several days as a mid-level Ridge of high-pressure will be the dominant feature.  This ridge is expected to slide eastward and weaken by the middle of next week.  An upper level trough will slide across southern Canada and the extreme northern portion of the country Wednesday through Friday.  A cold front at the surface will move across the northern and central us approaching Southern Kansas or extreme more than Oklahoma Thursday. Both GFS in Euro day to keep the front slightly north, but a few showers and storms may be possible during this time.   Temperatures will probably be closer to average by Thursday and Friday of next week.    I do not think this front will move into the main body of the state and no significant storm chances will be included in the forecast.

Before this occurs, there could be a small disturbance approaching portions of extreme northeastern OK Sunday into early Monday and a few isolated showers or storms could be possible across these areas.  We added a 10% chance to the forecast Thursday night at 10pm and I'll more than likely keep this probability on the forecast panel this morning.

We continue to watch a few tropical like systems but none appear to be big players at this point.  Gabrielle was downgraded yesterday.

The official high temperature in Tulsa was 95 from 3:32pm.

The normal daily high is 88 and the normal daily low is 66.

Daily records include a high of 107 from 1907 a low of 48 from 2011.

Friday night football games will start tonight statewide with First quarter temperatures in the upper 80s.  By the end of the game temperatures will be only in the upper 70s to near 80. Winds will be out of the south southeast at 10 to 5 miles per hour.

Our temperatures this weekend will be very warm into the mid 90s But some of our neighbors in southern Oklahoma in North Texas will be closer to 100.

Thanks for reading the Friday morning weather discussion in blog.

You'll find me on Facebook and Twitter.  I'll be discussing the Oklahoma regional and statewide forecast on numerous Radio Oklahoma News Network affiliates this morning.

Thanks for stopping by and have a super great day!
