Moore Man Loses Thumb In Boating Accident

A Moore man lost a thumb in a collision on Eufaula Lake Sunday evening. OHP's Marine Enforcement Division says it happened at 7:15 p.m. south of Porum Landing in McIntosh County.

Christopher Nappa was driving a house boat, trying to turn in a cove. Troopers say Nappa, 32, realized he was going to hit another boat and ran up to try to push off the other boat and avoid hitting it.

Instead, his hand was caught between the two vessels, and he lost his thumb.

No one was in the other boat which was anchored in the cove.

Troopers blamed the accident on driver inexperience.
