Tulsa Public Schools Brings Back Some 'Early Release' Fridays

Tulsa Public Schools has announced some changes to its calendar for the current school year.

Early-release Fridays will continue this year, but students will only be released early the first Friday of most months.

On those days, students will be released from classes two hours early.

September 6 is the first early-release Friday. Here are the rest:

• October 4
• November 1
• December 6
• February 7
• March 7
• April 4

The district says there will be no early release in January or May. Students will be served lunch prior to release.

The district says the schedule is a little different for students who attend continuous learning schools.
