Welcome to very little change in our weather!

A mid-level ridge of high pressure is now anchored near the state and will allow near normal temperatures for the next several days.  Morning lows will move into the upper 60s and lower 70s tomorrow morning and then mainly into the lower or mid-70s for the remainder of the forecast cycle.  Afternoon highs will range from 93 to 95 between now and Friday with south winds around 10 mph.

Low level moisture will be "thin" but a small increase in dew point temperatures is expected through the end of the week.  Consequently there will be a minor rise in temperature heat index values Thursday and Friday with upper 90s possible on both days while the surface temp will remain near 94 to 95.

The mid-level ridge should slide slightly northeast Saturday and Sunday which may allow a few isolated showers or storms across the extreme eastern OK and western Arkansas vicinity, but this chance remains near or even less than 10%.  We had a slight mention in the forecast for Sunday but may yank this off the map. The data also support the ridge centered back over OK early next week and could grow stronger for a few days before weakening by the mid to end of next week.

Our high in Tulsa yesterday was 90.  The normal high is 93 and the low is 71.  Yesterday's 90 was the first 90 we've recorded in Tulsa since August 11th and is only the 7th 90 degree day so far this month. The average high for August is now at 89, but this will increase due to the mid 90s expected for the remainder of the week.

The records today include a high of 106 from both 1936 and 1916.  The record low is 54 from 1950.

Precip for the year continues at 23.38 inches which is  only -2.98 compared to normal precip expected to date.

You'll find me on Facebook and Twitter.

I'll also be discussing the forecast on numerous Radio Oklahoma News Network affiliate stations this morning through the noon hour.

Thanks for reading the Tuesday Morning Weather Discussion and blog.

Have a super great day.
