Some Oklahoma voters cast ballots on Tuesday, August 13, as Tulsa, Adair, Pittsburg, Rogers and Sequoyah counties held elections.

Tulsa County Commissioner District 3

In Tulsa, Fred Perry's retirement meant a new county commissioner was needed in District 3 to fill out a term that expires in December 2014.

Voters chose Republican Ron Peters over Democrat John Bomar. Peters won with 78 percent of the vote.

Rogers County Sales Tax Extension

Rogers County voters returned to the polls in a repeat sales tax election. A one-cent sales tax was approved in May, but results were thrown out because notice of the election wasn't published in any Rogers County newspaper as state law requires.

It was approved again Tuesday, by 63 percent of voters.

County commissioners say the tax is important to county road improvements.

Sequoyah, Adair County School Elections

Sallisaw Public School voters picked Justin McGrew over Bob Sivils for a position on the school board.

And Adair County voters approved a question, meaning Skelly Schools will be annexed to the Westville District.

Pittsburg County McAlester Proposition

Pittsburg County voters in the city of McAlester approved a franchise with CenterPoint Energy, a utilities company that provides natural gas. That question passed with 87 percent of the vote.
