A Tulsa man is in critical condition after losing control of his motorcycle on a curve Sunday in Pushmataha County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Troopers say David J. Blackburn was southbound on State Highway 144 south of Clayton at about noon when he realized he was going too fast to make a curve. Blackburn tried to slow his Harley Davidson down by driving off the roadway into some tall vegetation but struck some loose gravel and overturned.
His passenger, 58-year-old Linda Jo Blackburn of Tulsa, was treated and released from a Talihina hospital, a collision report states. David Blackburn, 59, is listed in critical condition with head, arm, leg and internal injuries.
Helmets were in use, OHP reports. Troopers say Blackburn appeared to be in normal condition before the wreck, and they list the cause of the crash as unsafe speed on a curve.
