Randal Grichuk led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a home run that proved to be the difference in a 1-0 Arkansas win over the Tulsa Drillers Saturday night.
The loss spoiled a stellar pitching performance from the Drillers' pitching staff. Start Tyler Matzek went six innings, giving up four hits and walking three while striking out six batters. Juan Gonzalez took the loss for the Drillers.
The Travelers also got a strong effort from their pitching staff, limiting the Drillers to just four hits and giving up three walks. Starter Mike Piazza gave up two hits in six innings, striking out six Tulsa batters. Buddy Boshers picked up the win for Arkansas, and Josh Judy worked the ninth for his sixth save of the year.
Tulsa didn't have many opportunities to produce runs, stranding just four runners. Arkansas was 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and stranded nine runners.
The Drillers are back in action on Sunday against Springfield for the first game of a four-game series.
