Tulsa Couple Charged In Death Of 18-Month-Old Girl

A Tulsa couple have been charged in the death of an 18-month-old child. Scott Bolden and Heidi Benjamin remain in Tulsa County Jail.

Bolden and Benjamin were arrested last week after Benjamin's daughter died from a severe brain injury. Scott Bolden, 24, was charged Tuesday with first degree murder and child abuse by injury.

Benjamin, 19, was charged with child neglect and permitting child abuse. She said she was in the shower and the toddler was in her boyfriend's care when the fatal brain injury occurred. The child's body also showed evidence of old bruising, doctors say.

Bolden is also charged in Tulsa County with two counts of domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor child and threatening an act of violence from a previous relationship. He is scheduled to go to court in that case on May 9, 2013.
