The Drillers scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to a 9-3 victory Tuesday night in Tulsa.
The win gets the Drillers back to .500 (6-6) and completes a sweep of the Corpus Christi Hooks.
The scoring got started when Kent Matthes tripled home Michael Burgess to make it 1-0 in the bottom of the first. The next man up was Henry Wrigley who lofted a single to right, scoring Matthes and making it 2-0 Drillers. Wrigley later scored on a throwing error to put Tulsa up 3-0.
Leading 4-0 in the sixth, Joey Wong belted a three-run homer to right field to put Tulsa up by a comfortable 7-0 margin. The offense was plenty for Drillers' starter Christian Bergman, who pitched a scoreless 5.1 innings to earn the win.
Kyle Parker and Jayson Langfels added solo homers in the bottom of the seventh to round out the Drillers' scoring.
After starting the season 1-5, the Drillers have now won five of six games. Tulsa has an off day Wednesday before opening a four-game set at Northwest Arkansas Thursday.
