Martina Bruzikova was honored as the MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the second-straight week.
The junior member of the No. 37-ranked Northeastern State women's tennis team was 4-0 last week as the RiverHawks picked up two MIAA victories.
Bruzikova did not lose a single game in her four matches this past week. She picked up back-to-back 6-0, 6-0 victories on the third singles court and teamed with sophomore Barbora Jirickova to record two 8-0 doubles victories.
Bruzikova is on an 18-match win streak in singles and has only lost seven games combined in her last 12 singles matches (144-7).
This is the third time a RiverHawk has earned the weekly award, as freshman Kristina Savchenkov was bestowed the honor on Feb. 19.
Northeastern State is the only school to win the award three times this season, while Bruzikova is the only player in the MIAA who has won the laurel more than once.
NSU (18-2, 9-1 MIAA) will now travel to Wichita, Kan., for a 2 p.m. meeting April 12 with Newman University.
