Tulsa Police: Driver Blames Crash On Pepper Spray

A driver who claimed to have been pepper-sprayed was taken to the hospital after he crashed his car early Tuesday on Highway 169.

Tulsa Police say the crash happened on the 11th Street exit ramp just after 12:15 a.m.

The driver told police he had left his apartment near 71st and Mingo after his girlfriend had pepper-sprayed him in the eyes during a fight.

The driver said he had a hard time seeing and struck a light pole before ending up in a ditch.

Tulsa Police say the PT Cruiser sustained significant damage in the crash.
