After a big week at the plate for sophomore outfielder Logan Domenico, the Southland Conference recognized his efforts by naming him the conference hitter of the week.
In the second game of the opening series against No. 23 Central Arkansas, Domenico hit the first home run of his career with a two-run shot into the ORU bullpen, lifting the Golden Eagles to a 3-2 victory. Against Oklahoma, Domenico had seven hits in 10 at-bats, including a four hit contest on Wednesday.
The Scottsdale, Ariz., native hit .524 in the five games for the week ending on Sunday, with 11 hits, a home run, six runs batted in and scored six times.
It is the first weekly award Domenico has won in his career. He was named Preseason All-Southland Second Team prior to start of the season.
The Golden Eagles are fresh off a sweep of No. 23 UCA, and looking to continue their momentum on Tuesday against Oklahoma at home at 6:30 p.m. They will make their first Southland road trip on Thursday as they head to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three game set.
