The bats were about as cold as the weather on Sunday afternoon, but they came alive late, capped off by a game-winning single from Nate Goro, as Oral Roberts topped No. 23 Central Arkansas, 4-3.

The Golden Eagles started the bottom of the ninth, looking up at the Bears, 3-2. However, that didn't last long as leadoff batter Jose Trevino sent a pitch about 360 feet over the left field wall to tie the game.

He was followed by Tyler Boss who singled throw the hole on the right side, then Matt Brandy battled the UCA pitcher to draw a walk. Both Boss and Brandy then moved over to third as Chris Williams laid down a well placed bunt for the first out.

Just after Kevin Cho was put on first on an intentional walk, the UCA pitcher set Austen Colt down swinging for the second out. However, on the first pitch, Goro pushed a pitch by the diving second baseman into right, scoring Boss for the game-winning run.

The victory completed the Golden Eagle sweep of its first Southland Conference series to improve their record to 8-15 overall and 3-0 in conference play. ORU looks to continue the momentum on Tuesday as they host Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m.

Earlier in the ball game against the Bears, the Golden Eagles found themselves trailing 2-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth. In that half inning, they plated two runs on three hits to tie the game at two.

Goro picked up a one-out single to left, moving over to third two batters later on a single to right off the bat of Logan Domenico. With Trevino at the plate, a wild pitch from the UCA starter Bryce Biggerstaff allowed Goro to cross the plate, sliding under the tag.

After moving over to second on the wild pitch, Domenico eventually scored as Trevino recorded his first single and run batted in, tying the game.

Goro, Domenico and Trevino each finished with two hits and each scored a run. Trevino finished with two RBI's, while Goro and Domenico had one.

The Bears tied the game in the top of the seventh as Ethan Harris, who homered in the second inning, doubled, scoring on a Garrett Brown single.

UCA's second run of the afternoon came in the top of the third as they rattled off singles from Harris, Brown and Michael Marietta, pushing Harris across.

Getting this third victory of the season was Tim Zufall who entered the game in relief of Kurt Giller. Zufall picked 3.2 innings and allowed just three hits and a run, striking out four.

Giller pitched 5.1 innings and allowed nine hits, two runs and struck out three.
