An elderly Fitzhugh man was killed as he tried to pull a tree down in a pasture, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Jerry Eugene Fisher, 76, was pinned underneath the tree for an unknown period of time before being freed by the Ada and Fitzhugh Fire Departments.

Troopers say Fisher was operating a tractor at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 22 on private property located just outside Roff, Oklahoma, in Pontotoc County. He was trying to clear a tree from a pasture when the tree fell, pining him against his Massey Ferguson tractor.

Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, according to Trooper James McKee of the Pontotoc County OHP detachment.
