Tulsa Celebrates Arbor Day With Tree Plantings

City of Tulsa’s Parks Department celebrated Arbor Day at Reed Park Thursday with the planting of 9 trees.

Mike Perkins with Tulsa's Park Department says trees at the parks have had a hard time due to the drought and the 2007 ice storm and Thursday’s planting is part of an effort to reforest the parks.

This will be Tulsa’s 20th year as a Tree City USA Community and the 21st year the city has celebrated Arbor Day.
