Tulsa junior Aimee Creger was named C-USA Pitcher of the Week after allowing zero runs and striking out 31 batters in 15.0 innings in three outings last week.
Creger, a native of Yukon, Okla., posted a 0.00 ERA, going 2-0 with a save to lead Tulsa to wins over Oklahoma State and Marshall twice. She earned two complete-game wins over Marshall in the C-USA series over the weekend, and picked up the save in Tulsa's 5-1 victory over Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
Saturday in Game 1 against Marshall, Creger struck out 14 batters, and allowed no runs and just three hits with three walks. Sunday, she tossed a one-hitter and struck out 11 batters in a 5.0 inning complete game as Tulsa completed the weekend sweep with an 8-0 victory. Wednesday against OSU, she threw 3.0 innings in relief, striking out six batters, and earned her second save of the season. She also had a big game at the plate in Saturday's second win over Marshall, going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and six RBI.
This is the sixth C-USA weekly pitcher award of Creger's career.
The Golden Hurricane plays host to Indiana State at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Collins Family Softball Complex.
