A Sand Springs man is in the Tulsa County jail after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol chase on state Highway 97 in Sand Springs early Sunday.
According to jail records, the trooper stated after getting a car driven by 47-year-old Teddy Cravatt to stop, he attempted to arrest Cravatt who was climbing out of the driver's side window.
During the struggle, the trooper stated Cravatt got back in the car and drove off with the trooper still hanging on to Cravatt. The trooper said he was "in fear of his life" and let go.
The chase began again, but ended a short time later when Cravatt got out of the car and ran away. He was was arrested by the trooper after a brief struggle.
Jail records showed the car was reported stolen and a search of the car turned up various drug paraphernalia.
Cravatt was booked into jail on a variety of complaints including, eluding, assault with a deadly weapon, driving under suspension, resisting arrest and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Bond was set at $72,350. Cravatt has a court appearance set for March 11th.
