Closing the season on a three-game road trip, the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles were looking for a positive start against McNeese State Thursday night. Instead, they got a collapse.

Dontae Cannon hit two free throws with 16 seconds remaining to lift McNeese State to a 56-54 win over Oral Roberts.

The Golden Eagles led 47-36 with 8:03 remaining after D.J. Jackson nailed a 3-pointer. From that point, the Cowboys went on a 12-0 run to take a 48-47 lead with 4:04 remaining.

The teams traded the lead over the next three minutes before Oral Roberts tied the score at 54 on a Shawn Glover dunk with 44 seconds remaining, setting the stage for Cannon's heroics.

The Golden Eagles had a chance to tie or win the game, but Damen Bell-Holter turned the ball over and Oral Roberts wasn't able to get a shot away.

Glover led the Golden Eagles with 18 points while Warren Niles had 16 points and Bell-Holter scored 13 points.
