A former Chouteau man scheduled to die March 12th for the 1999 murder of Bixby woman is at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary after being transferred this week from a Tennessee prison.

Assistant Warden Terry Crenshaw says Steven Thacker, 42, is being housed on death row. Crenshaw says the transfer from a state prison in Nashville, Tennessee to the state penitentiary in McAlester this week was uneventful.

Oklahoma's Attorney General Scott Pruitt asked for an execution date in early January after the U.S. Supreme Court denied Thacker's final appeal.
