The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of a Jay woman was found more than 24 hours after she died in a crash on Highway 59 south of Jay Tuesday morning.
Troopers say the crash happened at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, but wasn't discovered until Wednesday at noon.
The OHP says Krista Summerfield, 37, was last seen Tuesday morning dropping her children off at school in Jay.
Summerfield was scheduled to attend classes at a vocational school in Kansas, Oklahoma on Tuesday morning, but never arrived.
On Wednesday, the crash was discovered about 5 miles south of Jay.
Troopers say it appears Summerfield's 2007 Chevrolet Impala failed to negotiate a curve in the highway for some unknown reason.
The car left the highway, struck a steep embankment, overturned and came to rest in a ravine after hitting a tree. The trooper's report stated Summerfield was ejected from the car.
The OHP says she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
