Funeral Set For Coweta Student Who Died At School

The funeral for a 15-year-old Coweta Intermediate High School student who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday will be held in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

According to his obituary, Triston Stephens' funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Victory Temple in Fort Smith with burial at Clark's Chapel Cemetery near Greenwood, Arkansas.

Coweta Intermediate High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning after the incident. Coweta Public School Superintendent Jeff Holmes said it occurred in a restroom at the school about 8:30 a.m.

Classes at the school resumed on Tuesday.
