Oral Roberts University senior guard Kevi Luper has been named Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

The weekly award is the third of the season for the Adair native, and the 17th of Luper's All-American career.

Luper averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game last week, leading the Golden Eagles to an 84-56 win over Nicholls State and a 90-48 win over Southeastern Louisiana. With the victories, ORU now stands at 10-10 (7-3 SLC).

The highlight of Luper's week came in Thursday's victory over Nicholls State, when she tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds. The double-double was Luper's first since January 3, 2011.

Luper was also named SLC Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

Luper now has 2,632 career points and 427 career steals, which rank 31st and 11th, respectively, in Division I history.

Honorable mention this week goes to Central Arkansas senior forward Megan Herbert, McNeese State senior guard Caitlyn Baggett, Sam Houston State senior forward Sequeena Thomas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi junior guard Ashley Darley. To receive honorable mention, a player must receive votes from 25 percent of the Southland women's basketball sports information directors.

Luper and the Golden Eagles return to road action on Thursday, February 7, when they face Northwestern State. Game time in Natchitoches, La., is scheduled for 5:30 pm CT.
